About the position
The General Warehouse position at ReaderLink involves performing essential functions in a high-volume distribution center environment. The role requires effective communication, adherence to safety protocols, and proficiency in using electronic devices for inventory management. Employees will be expected to work collaboratively, meet production standards, and adapt to various tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with internal customers and management.
- Follow detailed instructions and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Utilize electronic devices such as tablets, radios, and scanners.
- Perform basic math skills including counting, adding, and subtracting accurately.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and support safety programs.
- Comprehend oral and written communication to read labels and product documentation.
- Become proficient with Warehouse Management Systems and RF/Voice directed picking.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Report accidents, injuries, near misses, and hazardous conditions immediately.
- Assist in various production facets and work at different workstations as needed.
- Conduct work safely and adhere to safety methods.
- Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate dependability and flexibility in work assignments.
- Meet production standards within required time frames.
- Ensure quality and accuracy in material handling functions.
- Log into handheld devices and adjust equipment as necessary.
- Scan barcodes and follow operational directions for picking and packing.
Requirements
- One year of general warehouse or material handler experience preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Ability to repetitively reach up and out.
- Ability to exert 20 lbs. to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and 10 lbs. to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
