About the position

As a Senior HR Manager at Compass Group, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various Human Resource functions to achieve strategic, tactical, and administrative HR objectives. Your ability to communicate effectively with Senior Management and across different support departments is crucial. You will leverage your knowledge of employee relations and strong analytical skills to support HR initiatives and lead a dedicated staff. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all company HR-related policies are applied consistently across the organization. You will provide leadership in navigating union agreements and addressing employee grievances, ensuring that associates and management are coached through complex and challenging issues. Your guidance will be essential in determining appropriate disciplinary actions and assisting with on-site investigations as needed. In addition to these responsibilities, you will oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring that new hires are integrated smoothly into the company. You will also maintain and coordinate associate recognition programs to foster a positive work environment. Compliance with all federal and state laws is a critical aspect of your role, and you will regularly run and review HR activity reports to monitor compliance and performance. Supporting internal customer surveys and interpreting feedback from associate engagement surveys will be part of your duties, as will attending department manager meetings to enhance HR visibility and implement HR initiatives effectively. Your role will also involve reviewing requests for pay increases or status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency, processing status change forms, and preparing and presenting HR-related training topics. As a diversity champion, you will lead corporate diversity activities, focusing on diversity recruiting, retention, and promotion goals. Additionally, you will assist in creating Personal Development Plans for associates and participate in the Annual Performance Appraisal process, ensuring that all associates receive the support they need to grow and succeed within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all Company HR related policies are applied consistently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years human resources generalist experience and direct employee management required.
  • HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Content-knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures, union agreements, and programs.
  • Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
