About the position

As a Senior HR Manager at Compass Corporate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various Human Resource functions to achieve strategic, tactical, and administrative HR objectives. This position requires effective communication with Senior Management and collaboration across multiple support departments. Your expertise in employee relations, combined with strong analytical skills, will be essential in driving HR initiatives and leading a dedicated team. You will ensure that all company HR policies are applied consistently and provide leadership in managing union agreements and addressing employee grievances. Your role will involve coaching associates and management through complex issues, guiding them on appropriate disciplinary actions, and assisting with on-site investigations. In addition to overseeing recruitment and onboarding processes, you will maintain and coordinate associate recognition programs, ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws. Regularly reviewing HR activity reports and supporting internal customer surveys will be part of your responsibilities, as will attending department manager meetings to enhance HR visibility. You will conduct classroom training, implement HR initiatives, and review requests for pay increases or status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency. Furthermore, you will prepare and present HR-related topics and training sessions, act as a diversity champion by leading corporate diversity activities, and assist in creating Personal Development Plans for associates. Participation in the Annual Performance Appraisal process will also be a key aspect of your role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years of human resources generalist experience and direct employee management required.
  • HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Content knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures, union agreements, and programs.
  • Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
