About the position

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance. This role is pivotal in supporting the HR Manager and the Sioux Falls Operations in executing strategic initiatives that include compensation and benefits, employee engagement surveys, performance management, staffing, training, and development. The generalist will provide day-to-day support and act as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring that all HR policies and programs are administered effectively in partnership with supervisors and managers. In addition to administrative duties, the HR generalist will provide coaching on employee-related issues such as professional development, performance, investigations, and disciplinary actions. Maintaining knowledge of HR policies and procedures, as well as state and federal labor laws, is essential for this role. The generalist will also be responsible for processing necessary documents and forms for the implementation of various HR policies, maintaining all necessary records and files to support review and audit, and ensuring the accuracy of HRIS system data including entry and reporting. Furthermore, the generalist will assist in managing and administering company benefit programs and support the HR department with new hire orientations and benefit orientations, as well as other assignments and special projects as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day generalist and point-of-contact support to Sioux Falls, SD Operations.
  • Support Human Resources Manager and Sioux Falls Operations in executing strategic initiatives including compensation and benefits, employee engagement survey, performance management, staffing, training, and development.
  • Administer HR policies and programs in partnership with supervisors and managers and other HR staff.
  • Recommend policies, practices, and programs to meet management and employee needs.
  • Provide coaching on employee-related issues such as professional development, performance, investigations, and disciplinary action.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR policies and procedures as well as state and federal labor laws.
  • Process documents and forms necessary for the implementation of various Human Resources policies, programs, plans, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain all necessary records and files to support review and audit.
  • Maintain HRIS system data including entry and reporting.
  • Assist in the management and administration of company benefit programs.
  • Assist the HR department with new hire orientations and benefit orientations.
  • Assist HR department on other assignments and/or special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; PHR Certification preferred.
  • HR Generalist with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing operation preferred.
  • Experience with WorkDay preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
