The Generalist-Human Resources position at Marriott International involves supporting management and the leadership team in handling and resolving HR-related issues. Responsibilities

  • Assist and support management and the leadership team with HR-related issues.
  • Help employees with internal and external transfer requests.
  • Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues.
  • Coordinate and conduct drug tests, reference checks, background checks, and social security number verification.
  • Maintain records of applicant flow, drug tests, orientation, and transfer requests.
  • Create and maintain files for new employees and enter them into HR information systems.
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees.
  • Ensure all hiring processes comply with local, state, and federal laws and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9s).
  • Support payroll processing and record maintenance as needed.
  • Inform HR managers about employee relations issues within the division or property.
  • Create and maintain filing systems.
  • Generate HR data reports as needed, answer phones, and record messages.
  • Create and type correspondence using a computer.
  • Serve as an HR subject matter expert and participate in project teams.
  • Train new employees on HR processes, programs, policies, and information systems.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring a clean and professional appearance, and maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others, prepare and review documents accurately and timely, and answer phones appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team in achieving common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to others' concerns.
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds (4.5 kg) or less without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
