About the position

Fresh Express is seeking a talented and career-minded Human Resources Generalist to support the execution of our business initiatives. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in implementing people strategies that align with the objectives of the respective client groups. This position involves assisting line management in the implementation of HR practices, facilitating the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and procedures that support the organization’s strategies. The HR Generalist will provide guidance, advice, and assistance to both management and employees on various HR-related issues and problems. Collaboration with the HR team and other HR staff is essential to ensure the efficiency and consistency of the services provided. Additionally, the HR Generalist will manage the recruiting function for assigned customer groups, ensuring that the recruitment process is effective and compliant with organizational standards. In the realm of recruitment and selection, the HR Generalist will oversee and manage the recruitment function for assigned customer groups. This includes retaining the services of search firms, submitting job postings, assisting with job documentation and compliance requirements, conducting interviews, providing input to hiring managers, performing reference checks, recommending compensation levels, and completing payroll and benefits administration. The HR Generalist will also provide support to HR leaders and hiring managers during the onboarding process, ensuring that all new hire paperwork, background checks, and drug screens are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with policy. As the primary HR contact for all new hires, the HR Generalist will conduct new hire orientations and facilitate the transition into the business or organizational unit, partnering with first-level supervisors to ensure that goal setting and development plans are executed promptly. The HR Generalist will also support the documentation and implementation of HR policies and procedures, interpreting them as appropriate for the operational units. In terms of employee relations, the HR Generalist will provide guidance and advice to management and associates on HR issues, offering counsel on labor and ethical issues related to employment law and associate relations as necessary. This role requires a proactive approach to managing HR functions and fostering a positive work environment that aligns with the company’s values and objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of HR generalist experience.
  • Basic knowledge of recruitment, training, compensation, and benefit programs.
  • Experience maintaining HRIS, with Workday experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
