About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at LC Industries is a pivotal role responsible for executing HR-related duties at a professional level while collaborating closely with senior HR management to support designated geographic regions. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including benefits administration, training, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, affirmative action, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in administering various human resource plans and procedures for all personnel within the organization, assisting in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, and maintaining the employee handbook and policies manual. In addition to these core responsibilities, the HR Generalist will be involved in the full cycle of recruitment efforts for both exempt and nonexempt personnel, as well as temporary employees. This includes building a recruiting network through outreach to various organizations and educational institutions, conducting job fairs, and ensuring that company policies are administered fairly and consistently. The role also requires conducting new hire orientations and exit interviews, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws, and compiling reports from the human resource information system (HRIS). The HR Generalist will also participate in administrative staff meetings and contribute to the evaluation of departmental reports, decisions, and results in relation to established goals. This position requires excellent communication skills, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work under regular supervision with established goals and direction. The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, with specific physical demands that may include lifting files and adjusting focus for close vision tasks. Overall, this role is essential for fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that HR practices align with the organization's goals and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in the development and successful completion of department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Handles benefits administration including claims resolution coordination and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conducts full cycle recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.
  • Builds recruiting network through outreach to various organizations and educational institutions and conducts job fairs.
  • Conducts new hire employee and benefit orientations.
  • Handles employee exit interviewing.
  • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional Certification in HR from SHRM or HRCI.
  • 2-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems as necessary.
  • Training in Affirmative Action, EEOC Guidelines, FLSA, USERRA, etc.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel and database management.
