About the position

The Generalist, Operations (Ops.) at Goodwill of Colorado is responsible for overseeing Outlet, Salvage, and Warehouse operations. This role requires expertise in operating heavy equipment, ensuring efficient movement and storage of donated products, and providing excellent customer service. The position involves cross-training in various operational areas to ensure coverage and support for the production team, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as compactor, baler, forklift, hand dolly, and pallet jack to move, store, and retrieve donated products.
• Act as a trainer for forklift certifications for other team members.
• Sort recyclable materials into their proper bins.
• Ensure trucks and trailers are loaded, unloaded, and staged properly.
• Maintain sufficient materials for production areas and prepare materials in advance.
• Keep the warehouse and trailers organized, stocked, and clean.
• Prepare items for shipment and track products received and shipped.
• Complete duties in accordance with organizational policies to minimize downtime.
• Provide a safe working environment for customers and employees.
• Act as back-up for other areas as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated ability as a Goodwill Material Handler - Ops or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass a forklift certification test, including a drug screen.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate a baler and other equipment.
• Must have a valid Driver's License to operate a Box Truck as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 45lbs unassisted and up to 75lbs with assistance.
• Ability to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting for up to eight hours per day.
• Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Nice-to-haves
