About the position

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Generative AI Data Scientist to join their AI Practice. This remote position requires a strong background in Python and Generative AI, with a focus on applying data science to solve complex business problems. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement backend solutions, develop APIs, and stay updated with industry trends in generative AI.

Responsibilities

• Use generative AI models and algorithms to tackle sophisticated business problems
• Teach LLM model through timely engineering to achieve improved accuracy
• Take complete ownership of a use case and collaborate with a cross-functional team consisting of Frontend developers, Backend Developers, QAs, and DevOps
• Design, implement, and optimize complete backend pipeline using Python
• Develop and maintain APIs for data access and integration with other systems
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in generative AI and application development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning, NLP, and Data Science
• 3-4 years of ML or LLM based application development and deployment
• Strong proficiency in Large Language Models (e.g., GPT-3, GPT-4, Claude, Gemini) and their applications
• Prior experience in building LLM applications is a must
• Strong proficiency in Python and its libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Ability to write scalable pipelines using Python is a must
• Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
