About the position

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Generative AI Data Scientist to join their team. This remote position requires expertise in Python and Generative AI, with a focus on developing and deploying machine learning models to solve complex business problems. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and ownership of use cases, ensuring the implementation of effective backend pipelines and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Use generative AI models and algorithms to tackle sophisticated business problems.
• Teach LLM model through timely engineering to achieve improved accuracy.
• Take complete ownership of a use case and collaborate with a cross-functional team consisting of Front-end developers, Backend Developers, QAs, and DevOps.
• Design, implement, and optimize complete backend pipeline using Python.
• Develop and maintain APIs for data access and integration with other systems.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in generative AI and application development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning, NLP, and Data Science.
• 3-4 years of ML or LLM based application development and deployment.
• Strong proficiency in Large Language Models (e.g., GPT-3, GPT-4, Claude, Gemini) and their applications.
• Prior experience in building LLM applications is a must.
• Strong proficiency in Python and its libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Ability to write scalable pipelines using Python is a must.
• Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
