Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician III to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our customers' power generation equipment. The technician will be responsible for identifying abnormalities in power generation systems at the customer's location and performing complex repairs as needed. The position requires a strong understanding of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and generator controls, both AC and DC, to accurately troubleshoot and diagnose issues. In this role, the technician will make repair recommendations to customers, order necessary parts, and perform all repairs on power generation equipment and related support systems. Routine maintenance will also be a key responsibility, adhering to established guidelines and schedules to ensure optimal performance. The technician will utilize various measuring equipment, including multimeters and ampmeters, to diagnose and repair equipment effectively. Additionally, conducting load testing using dry type load bank test equipment and performing building tests with automatic transfer switches will be essential tasks. The technician will also assist lower-level Field Service Technicians in completing work assignments and will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment. All work must be performed in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures. Leading generator commissioning activities, verifying system installations, conducting performance tests, and ensuring all components function according to design specifications will also be part of the job.
