About the position

The Generator Shop Diesel Technician at Power Plus is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining portable generators. This role involves both shop and field service tasks, including troubleshooting generator issues, performing repairs, and providing technical support. The technician will work closely with the operations and fleet managers to ensure efficient repair prioritization and may also assist in field operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and make repairs to the generator fleet.
• Work with the operations manager and generator fleet manager to prioritize repairs.
• Order parts for repairs.
• Operate a forklift as required.
• Assist field operations when needed.
• Drive a company vehicle for service tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotation once approved to work in the field.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines is required.
• Generator experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• Working knowledge of Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators is a plus.
• Proficient in using computers and related software to troubleshoot engine and generator controls.
• Mechanical background is necessary.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
