About the position

The Generator Technician at Pearce Services, LLC is responsible for servicing and repairing commercial generators primarily located on cell phone towers. This role is ideal for skilled technicians who are self-starters and willing to travel. The position involves maintaining generator performance, diagnosing issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards in a fast-paced telecom environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining generators, diagnosing, and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness.
• Reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair generators.
• Installing fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and testing for proper operation.
• Responding promptly to Power/Generator alarms and being on call 24/7 if necessary.
• Performing work with awareness of potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, including using safety equipment and practices.

Requirements

• Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators.
• Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
