About the position

The Studio Engineer at Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) will be responsible for designing and engineering body structures and advanced packaging for concept programs. This role involves collaboration between the US Design Team and the Engineering Department in Korea, ensuring that design requirements align with production engineering standards. The Studio Engineer will also conduct feasibility studies, create design guides, and analyze concepts using both digital simulations and physical prototypes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer body structure and advanced packaging for concept programs.
  • Understand requirements and create feasibility studies based on US designs.
  • Foster communication between the Engineering Department in Korea and the US Design Team.
  • Find solutions to help designers meet production program engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate with the studio to complete feasibility studies for interior trim and seating.
  • Create design guides for the studio considering design needs and package requirements.
  • Resolve design feasibility issues alongside designers for all studio programs.
  • Analyze concepts through both 3D digital simulation and physical prototypes.
  • Study and be aware of new technologies/structures that could be implemented into design proposals.
  • Research new developments in platform, engineering, and emerging technology that could influence the design of future cars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
  • 5+ years experience working in Automotive Engineering, preferably with studio experience
  • Proficient in CATIA V5 generating surface data
