About the position

The position of Interdisciplinary Data Scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) involves managing and developing data policies for the Eastern Ecological Science Center. The role requires designing protocols for data integration, advising scientists, and coordinating records management processes. This position is open to U.S. citizens and offers a salary range based on the GS-11 pay scale, with opportunities for telework and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a data manager to assist in developing the center's data management policy.
  • Design and coordinate protocols and procedures for data integration.
  • Advise center scientists and data stewards on data management practices.
  • Coordinate records management, curation, and preservation processes.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Suitable for Federal employment as determined by a background investigation.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Meet educational requirements for one of the following: Geographer, Biologist, General Engineer, Physical Scientist, or Librarian.

Nice-to-haves
