The Surveyor's Office in the Department of Land Use and Transportation is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst. This role is pivotal in providing support to end-users of GIS within the Surveyor's Office. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining enterprise geodatabases on SQL server and file geodatabases. This includes the design and maintenance of customized SQL server stored procedures, queries, and spatial views in ArcSDE server, as well as managing replication data sets between ArcSDE databases. In addition to database management, the GIS Analyst will develop and maintain web GIS applications utilizing ESRI JavaScript API, ArcGIS Online, HTML, CSS, and Web AppBuilder. The role requires coordination with IT to troubleshoot problems on servers, databases, and GIS applications. Customizing GIS tools and applications to support management, projects, and daily operations is also a key responsibility. The analyst will create custom maps and reports for management and field crews, provide technical support on GIS software, and serve as a technical resource for other staff on complex GIS database and application issues. Training work groups on GIS applications and mapping is an essential part of the job, as is participating in work and advisory groups to coordinate data use with other Washington County departments and external agencies. The GIS Analyst will also provide technical support on SQL server database user permissions, Access frontend data entries, and troubleshooting. Collaboration with other GIS Analysts and information systems management is necessary to determine the direction of GIS application development and implementation. The analyst will represent county GIS by attending ESRI, Metro, and other local GIS group meetings, and participate in discussions with managers of information systems and other GIS Analysts to recommend software or hardware acquisitions. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexible work arrangements.
