About The Position

The Geologist II position at AECOM in Dallas, TX, is designed for a self-motivated and experienced individual who will support Project Managers in various environmental projects. The role involves planning, overseeing fieldwork, and evaluating hydrogeologic phases, with a focus on compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks related to environmental investigation and remediation, working with both federal and commercial clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology or relevant geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry).
  • 2+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
  • Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes.
  • Experience with local regulatory agencies.
  • Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site model, and well installation reports.
  • Task management or project management experience.
  • Proposal writing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
  • Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate effectively with Project Managers.
  • Conduct data management, evaluation, and report writing, including drafting environmental investigation and closure reports.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays, as required.
