About the position

The Geomechanical Engineer (Rock Mechanics) position focuses on providing engineering and geological expertise to support various geotechnical projects, particularly in underground mine geomechanics. The role involves developing and executing geomechanical models, preparing ground control plans, and conducting inspections to ensure safety and stability in mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Support senior staff in the development and execution of geomechanical models for underground hard-rock mines.
• Prepare ground control and stabilization plans for mining operations.
• Conduct ground control and condition inspections for both metal and non-metal mines.
• Characterize rock mass and develop rock core sampling and testing plans.
• Produce high-quality technical documents as deliverables for clients.

Requirements

• Expertise in engineering and geology principles related to geotechnical projects.
• Strong observational and critical thinking skills.
• Technical aptitude in geomechanics and underground mining operations.
• Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with modern engineering software programs.
