About the position

The Geospatial Analyst position at Embedded Alliance involves utilizing geography, GIS, and data management skills to produce human geography products. The role requires a Top Secret Clearance and focuses on supporting the government in developing and maintaining the International Program for Human Geography (IPHG). Responsibilities include conducting research, producing maps and reports, and providing geospatial analysis support to international activities.

Responsibilities

  • Produce human geography products including attributed data and maps.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the International Program for Human Geography (IPHG).
  • Facilitate quality assurance and training activities at meetings.
  • Provide geospatial analysis support services to the customer IPHG and International Activities.
  • Act as a Human Geography Subject Matter Expert (SME) during international meetings.
  • Acquire and disseminate Human Geography data with Government counterparts.
  • Post co-produced Human Geography data to NSG data storage solutions.
  • Identify potential sources of information to enhance community awareness across the IC community, DoD, and Civilian Agencies.
  • Participate in technical exchanges focusing on Human Geography production standards.
  • Support enabling activities for Human Geography production, including writing SOPs and training coworkers.

Requirements

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Polygraph.
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting DoD or the IC's GEOINT Mission.
  • Knowledge of Human Geography concepts.
  • Experience in research, discovery, and extraction of geospatial and non-geospatial information.
  • Experience in imagery research, extraction, and attribution.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro software tools for data management and geo-referencing.
  • Experience in geo-enabling non-spatial data.
  • Ability to communicate GEOINT products and services effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of regional, cultural, and political geography of the assigned region.
  • Experience using established cartographic principles and geo-referencing.
  • Experience in creating and publishing GEOINT products.
  • Working knowledge of a foreign language of the assigned region.
  • Experience producing data to NSG standards.
  • Experience with open source data harvesting and scripting.
  • Experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE).
  • Proficiency in Basic Python Scripting.
