About the position

Dewberry is currently seeking a Geospatial Project Manager to support our Geospatial Technology Services (GTS) Business Unit. This position can be based out of one of our offices located in Virginia (Fairfax, Gainesville, Leesburg), Maryland (Lanham, Rockville, Baltimore), Florida (Tampa, Orlando), or North Carolina (Raleigh, Charlotte). The GTS unit is responsible for delivering geospatial, lidar, remote sensing, mapping, and GIS technology solutions across various markets including federal, state, local, and commercial sectors. The successful candidate will possess strong writing and communication skills, which are essential for developing geospatial pursuit proposals, managing projects, and producing high-quality mapping, studies, and reporting deliverables. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and maintaining client relationships, aligning client needs with Dewberry's services and solutions, and managing project teams to ensure deliverables are met within the defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. As part of our Project Management Office, you will collaborate with a large national geospatial practice that supports local offices and strategic pursuits, fostering a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities

  • Work with our business development team to position for pursuits.
  • Work with our proposal teams to develop compelling solutions for geospatial project needs.
  • Prepare task order proposals including technical proposal, cost proposal, schedule of deliverables.
  • Setup and abide by project controls within Dewberry systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint, MS Project for the Web).
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and work with our team to setup requisitions and purchase orders to manage their work.
  • Review and manage project risks with the client.
  • Manage deliverable quality within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Draft client invoices and manage through collection.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders and respond to client feedback.
  • Represent the firm appropriately with teaming partners and subcontractors, at conferences, and business networking opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree required; Geography, environmental science, or technical equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience managing project tasks and projects within the geospatial and A/E/C industry preferred.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills. Skilled at technical writing and editing for proposals, white papers, meeting minutes, project deliverables, studies, and other internal and external content.
  • Ability to schedule, host, conduct, and document meetings with clients, project teams, stakeholders. Comfortable presenting at conferences and other public forums.
  • Aptitude for sharing pertinent project information on internal and external social media platforms (e.g., Dewberry blogs, LinkedIn posts, ID posts, Teams chats, StoryMaps, etc.).
  • Experienced with ArcGIS, MS Project, MS Teams, MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks, coordinate shifting priorities, respond to short-term deadlines, and carry a diverse workload with tight timelines.
  • Available to work overtime, at times, to meet business requirements.
  • Willing to travel to other office locations for meetings, as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Geographic Information System Professional (GISP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of current GIS and IT technology.
  • Knowledge of one or more federal geospatial programs: USGS 3DEP, 3DHP, 3DNTM programs; NOAA programs and initiatives; FEMA floodplain mapping program.
  • Familiar with remote sensing technologies: topographic lidar, topobathy lidar, IfSAR, sonar, Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB), Structure From Motion (SFM).
  • Experience in Benefit/cost analyses, requirements and benefits studies, economic value of GIS data, Business process re-engineering.
