About the position

The Geospatial Project Surveyor at Jacobs will play a crucial role in managing and executing various land development projects. This position involves overseeing technical tasks, coordinating field crews, and ensuring compliance with project goals and safety plans. The Project Surveyor will be responsible for generating and editing Digital Terrain Models, conducting public records research, and drafting land survey plats, among other duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform or oversee technical tasks to ensure all elements of the scope of work are completed.
• Coordinate field crew activities and manage geodetic control network planning and design.
• Process and adjust control surveys, and handle feature processing of topographic field data.
• Register LiDAR data and extract features as needed.
• Generate, edit, and perform quality control on Digital Terrain Models (DTM).
• Conduct title commitment reviews and public records research.
• Perform COGO calculations and determine Land and Right of Way boundaries.
• Draft Land Survey Plats, ALTA Surveys, and Topographic Maps.
• Write property descriptions and obtain necessary permits and Right of Entry.
• Ensure all quality control plans are followed and work with Project Managers to estimate hours for tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in applicable field.
• 3-7 years of experience in surveying.
• Proven ability to complete all technical aspects of a surveying task.
• Good social and communication skills.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background checks.
• Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the surveying community.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, and TBC.
• Professional Land Surveying License.
• Experience with laser scanning.
