About the position

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a mid-level Geostructural Engineer to support its national practice. The role involves leading complex geostructural projects, developing engineering scopes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, management, and execution of complex geostructural projects.
• Develop engineering scope of work and cost estimates.
• Check design calculations and for-construction drawings and specifications for geostructural projects.
• Provide design support during construction.
• Oversee construction observation of specialty geotechnical works and foundation construction.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline and multi-location internal and external teams.
• Schedule, coordinate, and oversee junior staff during design and construction phases.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
• Perform some field work and travel as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural or geotechnical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience in structural and/or geotechnical engineering.
• Current Professional Engineering license.
• Familiarity with risk management and preparation of risk registers, slope stability and remediation, and/or business development is a plus.
• Basic understanding and working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective time management, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of both geotechnical and structural engineering is highly desirable.
