About the position

Actalent is seeking an Entry Level Driller Helper to join their geotechnical drilling team. This position involves working under the supervision of the Geotechnical Drilling Crew Leader, assisting in various drilling operations, and performing fieldwork primarily outdoors. The role is ideal for individuals eager to learn about geotechnical drilling and who enjoy working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driller in the field with soil boring and soil sampling.
• Monitor well installations and perform rock coring.
• Handwrite report findings and collect field samples for the lab.
• Replace drill augers and perform additional duties as directed by the lead driller.
• Travel throughout the state of Kansas as required.
• Lift and push equipment weighing upwards of 75 pounds.

Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift specialized equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Experience assisting with soil borings, soil sampling, and rock coring.
• Ability to monitor well installations and report findings.
• Skills in collecting and sorting field samples for laboratory analysis.
• Familiarity with replacing drill augers.
