About the position
The Geotechnical Senior Engineer position at Terracon Consultants, Inc. involves providing engineering and consulting services across various projects and sectors. The engineer will also be responsible for project management tasks such as proposal preparation, cost estimation, and project progress tracking, while communicating complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure adherence to safety rules and guidelines.
- Create and model a safe work environment and demonstrate safety practices.
- Promote pre-task planning for all projects and continuous quality monitoring.
- Monitor quality standards and practices throughout projects.
- Understand project-related risks and implement protective measures for the company.
- Provide technical direction for routine and complex projects.
- Conceptualize initial designs or investigative approaches for major project phases.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work involving conventional practices and complex features.
- Review projects requiring innovative investigation techniques and supervise analysis and recommendations.
- Lead technical training and make informed decisions based on technology issues.
- Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development.
- Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum 8-11 years of experience in the field.
- Master's degree in engineering preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
