About the position

The Geotechnical Staff Project Manager I (SPG) is primarily responsible for supporting the preparation of geotechnical reports and managing construction materials testing (CMT) projects. This role involves collaboration with senior staff, managing project budgets, and overseeing fieldwork, while also providing training to field staff. The position is designed for individuals with a background in civil or geological engineering, and it offers opportunities for professional growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations.
  • Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects, including daily report review and issue resolution.
  • Train field staff on project-related tasks.
  • Manage project budgets for geotechnical and CMT projects and prepare invoices.
  • Assist with boring and test pit layouts and evaluate site access under supervision.
  • Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances.
  • Conduct research on local geologic history.
  • Supervise fieldwork performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues.
  • Perform in-situ testing and specialized geotechnical field testing as needed.
  • Classify soil and assign laboratory testing.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals for geotechnical and CMT projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required.
  • No prior experience is required for this position.
  • A valid driver's license is required if driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary.
