About the position
The Job Coach position is designed for compassionate individuals who want to support Developmentally Disabled adults in achieving greater independence. This full-time role involves direct interaction with clients in community settings, focusing on skill-building in work, social interactions, and community engagement. The position offers a hands-on approach rather than a desk job, making it ideal for those who enjoy working actively with people.
Responsibilities
- Train and support adults with developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals
- Help clients build skills in areas like work, social interactions, and community involvement
- Act as a mentor and advocate for clients in public and work environments
- Monitor progress and communicate with the team regarding each client's development
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (College degree is a plus!)
- Reliable vehicle with current auto registration and insurance
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus)
- Compassion, patience, and a strong desire to help others
- Ability to work consistently full-time, Monday to Friday
