About the position
As a GI Tech at Austin Endoscopy Center, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the care of patients undergoing GI/Endoscopy procedures. This position involves maintaining a sanitary environment, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, and supporting the surgical team during procedures. You will be part of a dedicated healthcare team focused on quality patient outcomes and community service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a sanitary environment for patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
- Prepare the endoscopy unit adequately and ensure availability of necessary GI equipment and supplies.
- Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
- Assist in the maintenance, care, and labeling of specimens.
- Identify specimens with the surgeon and pass them to the circulating RN.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
- One-year acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
- Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
