About The Position

The GIS Analyst II position at the University of Louisiana Lafayette involves maintaining situational awareness across the Louisiana Army National Guard's environmental and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with GIS requirements and supporting various initiatives related to GIS data analysis and development.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in the STEM fields
• Three (3) years of professional level technical environmental experience
• Three (3) years of professional level GIS experience
• Two (2) years of professional level experience working in wildland fire

Nice To Haves

• Proficient technical writing skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Military background or experience working in a military setting
• Three or more ESRI certifications relating to spatial analysis, ESRI applications, and ArcGIS Pro

Responsibilities

• Provides GIS data analysis and developments tasked by GIS/Tech Integration Branch Manager
• Monitors and coordinates all NGB/DOD initiatives regarding GIS requirements
• Creates and maintains AGOL online data repositories for programs such as ESRI Field Maps, Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, Enterprise, Portal
• Completes any NGB G9 initiatives required by the GIS/Tech Integration Branch Manager
• Monitors Louisiana National Guard map submission site to process requests for custom made map products
• Assists the Louisiana National Guard in the wildland fire program as initiatives are pushed by NGB
• Completes annual trainings and certifications required for the responsibilities listed above, as directed by the GIS/Tech Integration Branch Manager
• Performs additional duties as assigned
