About the position
This position involves leading and managing geospatial projects and solutions that support environmental planning, transportation planning, and communications departments. The role includes creating and maintaining data and project templates, developing graphics and impact assessments, and analyzing customer requirements to create geospatial systems using industry-standard technologies. The position also provides guidance and mentorship to junior planning staff.
Responsibilities
- Interact directly with clients, both internal and external, and provide training and process knowledge to promote GIS.
- Provide GIS technical support and promote GIS technology to design offices.
- Conduct market research and business development consulting as needed.
- Develop and complete a GIS project lifecycle, from requirements through implementation.
- Develop or maintain GIS applications using a combination of GIS software, web-based development tools, and/or Windows development tools.
- Develop applications using Arcview software to enhance existing and future GIS projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Planning or related field and 3 years related experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products.
- In lieu of degree, 7 years of relevant experience.
