Michael Baker International is a leading provider of architectural, engineering, and consulting services, including design, planning, environmental, construction, and program management. The GIS Analyst will join the National Geospatial Practice team in our Infrastructure vertical and will be involved on a full-time basis on an ongoing federal contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation to support their National Pipeline Mapping System program. This position is 100% remote, allowing candidates to work from home or from a nearby company office location, with a preference for candidates within the Washington, D.C. metro area. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for hands-on evaluation and manipulation of spatial and attribute information, data conversion, cartographic mapping, data and product quality control, technical solution development, troubleshooting, and a willingness to increase skillsets with training, research, and collaboration with teammates on potentially complex projects. The role requires a strong knowledge of GIS concepts and spatial relationships, as well as the ability to reconcile results of geospatial analysis and prepare documentation and reports. The analyst will also provide reviews and comments on processes, guidelines, and standards in support of the National Geospatial Practice organization, ensuring data procurement and quality assurance while delivering results in a timely manner. Effective communication regarding data needs, priorities, and support matters is essential, as is the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The GIS Analyst will perform task management and guidance while working closely with multi-disciplinary teams within Michael Baker International.
