The position involves updating and maintaining data integrity within the GIS system, which includes system improvements, line extensions, protective device equipment, subdivisions (overhead and underground), pole attachments, members, transmission facilities, landbase layers, and communications facilities. The role requires a basic knowledge of database development, data backups, and understanding relational datasets. The candidate will produce maps and other representations of geospatial data using modern data visualization techniques and user interfaces with web and static maps. An understanding of geo-processing tools and data analysis to explore relationships between map features is essential. The candidate must also have knowledge of ESRI-based software and awareness of freeware and alternative GIS and data visualization software. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting GIS issues and actively collaborating with various Bluebonnet employees to maintain data integrity within the GIS system. The position requires maintaining GIS programs and software, making presentations to other departments, and recommending efficiencies for GIS technology and related hardware and software. The candidate will also be responsible for completing weekly documentation and maintaining professional working relationships with all employees, members, and vendors.
