About the position

The GIS Analyst position at Harvey Nash involves performing analytical, technical, and administrative work to support the Enterprise GIS system and related datasets. The role requires considerable skill and independent judgment in GIS applications, particularly in field mapping. Responsibilities include GIS mapping tasks, data management, and generating cartographic products as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work with end users to implement Esri configured solutions in Portal and ArcGIS Online
  • Conduct use-case analysis of business functions to identify GIS application requirements, technical issues, and training needs
  • Communicate with internal and external technical resources to resolve end-user issues
  • Provide guidance to users on methods for correcting problems
  • Use a variety of spatial editing techniques to accurately create and update GIS datasets
  • Participate in compatibility testing of application upgrades for GIS web applications and desktop extensions
  • Perform quality control processes on GIS data and attribute information
  • Prepare technical documentation including data specifications, user requirements, and procedures
  • Produce maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data
  • Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations
  • Perform spatial analysis of both vector and raster datasets
  • Conduct in-house training and track progress on system implementation and application projects

Requirements

  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Knowledge of data management and metadata
  • Ability to perform GIS mapping tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro
  • Knowledge of configuring ArcGIS Solutions including web apps and dashboards
  • Considerable problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
