About the position
Join the City of Raleigh's award-winning GIS team in the Information Technology Department! We're seeking a dedicated GIS Analyst to support and enhance critical systems like Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD). As a key member of the Enterprise GIS team, you'll focus on ensuring high-quality spatial data management, contributing directly to public safety and emergency services through innovative GIS solutions. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain GIS data to ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness for the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Develop and execute data processing workflows to support critical public safety operations.
- Collaborate with Emergency Dispatch and other city departments to gather business requirements and ensure GIS data meets operational needs.
- Maintain up-to-date metadata.
- Use automation tools to streamline data workflows and improve efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to data quality management frameworks, with a focus on public safety applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in information technology, geography, geographical information systems or directly related field.
- Two years of professional level GIS programming, analysis, data management and/or cartographic products.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Nice-to-haves
- Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) or Esri Certification.
- Familiarity with CAD system integration and real-time data workflows.
- Experience with RDBMS spatial data management, REST web services, and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of Python scripting for data automation and ETL processes.
