About the position

The GIS Application Testing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of GIS applications through rigorous testing methodologies. This role involves collaborating with Product Owners to refine requirements, setting up automation frameworks, and executing various testing strategies including performance and automation testing. The engineer will also create and maintain test plans and test cases, integrating automation testing into the build process to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Refine requirements with Product Owners
• Set up automation framework for testing
• Manage projects using Azure DevOps, including user stories, bugs, and test cases
• Conduct GIS application testing
• Create and maintain test plans
• Write and maintain test cases
• Perform automation testing using Selenium
• Create and maintain automated test cases
• Integrate automation testing into the build process
• Conduct performance testing using JMeter and LoadRunner
• Test application performance for both frontend and backend
• Perform REST service performance testing
• Utilize IDEs/tools such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, and IntelliJ
• Apply Agile methodology in testing processes
• Implement BDD methodology using Cucumber
• Work with Esri ArcGIS and JavaScript API (versions 3.x and 4.x)
• Utilize ArcSDE and ArcGIS API for Python
• Employ ArcPy for GIS application testing

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in GIS application testing
• Experience with requirement refinement with Product Owners
• Proficient in setting up automation frameworks
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for project management
• Experience in creating and maintaining test plans and test cases
• Strong knowledge of automation testing using Selenium
• Experience in performance testing with JMeter and LoadRunner
• Proficient in application performance testing (frontend/backend)
• Experience with REST service performance testing
