Responsibilities

  • Prepare tracings, drawings, and maps of limited complexity.
  • Correct existing maps and records.
  • Perform various office support activities.
  • Independently perform complex cadastral map drafting for assessment maps.
  • Maintain and amend the Assessor's maps and GIS database.
  • Conduct difficult research and interpret legal descriptions.
  • Perform accurate cadastral map drafting from legal descriptions, deeds, and survey data.
  • Communicate with other departments and agencies regarding data clarification.
  • Train or assist other cartographic staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in GIS software and ArcMap application.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and departmental staff.
  • Knowledge of terminology, symbols, and principles used in drafting.
  • Ability to perform accurate cadastral map drafting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Access.
