The GIS Data Architect position at MSys Inc. is a long-term role focused on integrating GIS data with MDOT applications, specifically utilizing ESRI Roads and Highways. This hybrid position requires candidates to be located within a commutable distance from Lansing, Michigan, as it mandates two days of onsite work each week. The role is critical in understanding and managing the data collected in the Roads & Highways Database and the MDOT's SDE environment, ensuring accuracy, standardization, and synchronization of data across various applications. The GIS Data Architect will also play a significant role in the annual migration of MDOT applications, contributing to the development of improved migration processes. In this position, the GIS Data Architect will report to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) Agency Services and will collaborate closely with the Enterprise Application Architect, Enterprise Data Architect, and various stakeholders including MDOT's GIS Team, application business leads, and information stewards. The role involves managing the ArcGIS License manager, which includes setting up and updating the ESRI License manager and periodically adding licenses. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in key meetings regarding GIS data and represent the DTMB Agency Service, addressing the GIS needs of consumer applications.
