Responsibilities

• Identify and acquire publicly available datasets online, collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies to obtain relevant data.
• Gather geospatial data on wastewater networks and related features such as soil conditions, water bodies, infrastructure, and population density from multiple sources.
• Create and maintain map layers to support various projects.
• Analyze and organize geospatial data to support internal teams and systems.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data quality and coverage.

Requirements

• Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of GIS concepts, map layers, and spatial data analysis.
• Proven ability to search for, acquire, and compile geospatial data from various sources.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with public entities and external data providers.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with water/wastewater, civil engineering, construction, infrastructure, or environmental projects.
• Background in data visualization and spatial analysis tools.
• Familiarity with publicly available GIS datasets.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving data quality and coverage.
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
