About the position

The GIS Database Analyst position at Weston Solutions, Inc. involves supporting commercial, industrial, and Department of Defense (DoD) clients by managing and analyzing environmental data. The role requires a strong knowledge of database technologies and the ability to work with scientific data in relational databases. The analyst will create views, stored procedures, and triggers to maintain data integrity and provide analytics to inform users, contributing to the company's mission of promoting sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Support Commercial, Industrial, and DoD clients by managing and analyzing environmental data.
• Work with scientific data in relational databases, creating views, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Establish patterns and trends in data and ensure data quality.
• Provide custom work products in the form of reports, charts, graphs, and other analytics.
• Collaborate with a distributed team to inform users and enhance data integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 6-10 years of professional experience in a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies including Transact SQL, SQL Server Management Studio, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with environmental data and data manipulation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ESRI Spatial Database Engine and spatial databases in an ESRI environment.
• Experience designing custom reports with scientific data from environmental projects.
• Ability to setup jobs in SQL Server to support reporting and application needs.
