This GIS Developer position is part of Metro's Information Technology Services GIS Division, located in Nashville, Tennessee. The role involves a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work. The primary responsibilities include the compilation and maintenance of Metro GIS layers, utilizing Metro's enterprise portal and ArcGIS Online to assist customers in creating and managing their content. The GIS Developer will also conduct GIS analysis tasks and generate cartographic products as required. The successful candidate will employ various spatial editing techniques to accurately create and update a wide range of GIS datasets. They will be responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of these datasets, monitoring and maintaining data inventory records related to GIS dataset update cycles, and completing GIS analysis requests. Additionally, the role requires the creation of high-quality cartographic products and the documentation of data maintenance and analysis procedures. The GIS Developer will also implement Esri configured solutions in both the Portal and ArcGIS Online environments. To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or a GIS certification from an accredited institution, along with a solid understanding of geographic information system technology. Experience with ESRI GIS systems is preferred, particularly two or more years of hands-on experience with the ESRI platform. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and possess a self-motivated attitude, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
