About the position

The Iowa County Highway Department is actively seeking a GIS/Engineering Technician to join their team in Dodgeville, WI. Responsibilities

  • Track and order shop supplies, equipment, and construction parts and materials.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Reconcile parts and supplies to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Serve as the main point of contact within the shop for inventory-related inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to inventory and procurement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support infrastructure projects and planning initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree in Purchasing/Procurement, Public Works, Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field required; preference for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in personal computer applications and software relevant to inventory management.
  • Experience in Commercial Fleet Operations, Parts Warehouse, or Inventory Management and Reconciliation is required.
  • Preference for experience in Public Works, Highway Department, or Construction industry.
