About the position

The GIS Mapping Specialist is a remote position that supports GIS and site selection teams by performing location analysis, mapping, and real estate services essential for franchise sales development. This role involves maintaining GIS databases, ensuring data integrity, and creating reports using various GIS tools to aid in decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform geographical mapping using geoprocessing tools and software.
• Gather and analyze requirements from real estate supervisors to identify customer expectations for mapping and GIS reports.
• Work with real estate managers to understand program functionality expectations and output/reports.
• Utilize software knowledge to perform GIS analysis and create professional map documents for various projects.
• Modify, update, and audit spatial datasets.
• Select appropriate geoprocessing tools for comparative and competitive analysis and adjust as necessary.
• Create GIS documentation of processes and procedures.
• Apply cartographic skills to custom map design and report requests.
• Partner with project stakeholders to discuss project solutions and design options.
• Collect and assimilate raw data into reporting templates.
• Research and implement technological advancements in GIS.
• Provide feedback on current market trends and participate in training opportunities to maintain GIS trends and software technology.
• Test, troubleshoot, and resolve enhancements to ensure development meets user requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• 1-2 years of database usage experience (preferred)
• Experience in GIS tools such as Esri Business Analyst, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, and Google Earth Professional.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GIS Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) software
• Knowledge of cartographic skills and mapping guidelines.
