About the position

The Quality Assurance Engineer at Schneider Electric is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through comprehensive testing and validation processes. This role involves designing test plans, executing various testing methodologies, and collaborating with development teams to enhance software usability and compliance. The position requires a strong understanding of web applications, SAAS-based solutions, and software development life cycles, with a focus on delivering high-quality products that meet user needs and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
  • Test web applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and accessibility standards.
  • Engage in all stages of software development, including requirements gathering and iterative testing cycles.
  • Conduct software compatibility tests across various programs, hardware, operating systems, and network environments.
  • Review software documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage software defects and usability issues, documenting problems and providing feedback to developers.
  • Update automated test scripts to maintain accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Perform testing in accordance with Agile Scrum and Continuous Integration methodologies.
  • Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards.
  • Plan test schedules or strategies based on project scope and delivery dates.
  • Maintain a suite of test scripts for the test automation system, including Smoke Tests and performance tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive work experience in quality assurance for enterprise or GIS applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in reading requirements and translating them into test plans.
  • Experience performing manual testing of Windows UI, web service APIs, and web applications across multiple environments.
  • Experience writing, running, updating, and maintaining automated test cases.
  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and operating test environments and systems.
  • Experience executing performance and load testing for various scenarios.
  • Utilization of ArcGIS, VertiGIS, or similar GIS software and its tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and SAAS-based applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration practices.
