About the position

The GIS Specialist at Lendlease is responsible for managing and maintaining the Geographic Information System (GIS) databases to support the planning and development of new communities, as well as the maintenance of existing ones. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate mapping and surveying of military housing and contributes to enhancing the overall resident experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GPS data collection and spatial analysis of GIS data related to new development, environmental, and various projects.
  • Provide direction to construction and maintenance personnel on using GIS and on collecting additional data for the GIS system.
  • Conduct mapping research in the field and in the office to resolve conflicting information and ensure accuracy of the data.
  • Develop, test, document, and perform data capturing, analysis, and quality control procedures on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Maintain and update GIS databases using GPS field data and computer-aided drawings.
  • Create and update maps to support different departments in the project.
  • Develop spatial data overlays and comparisons, and perform geospatial analysis.
  • Coordinate digging permit process utilizing existing utility GIS data and marking all necessary utilities.
  • Receive and input into the GIS database closeout materials from construction including guarantees and warranties, as-builts, Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Develop and maintain links between various databases, including Yardi.
  • Provide technical support of GIS for other team members as needed.
  • Stay current with and follow the Department of Defense's Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) as required.
  • Remain current with GIS/GPS technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography/GIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in GIS or GIS-related industry.
  • Experience in ESRI's core products (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, and ArcIMS web mapping).
  • Experience in Geocortex software including Geocortex Essentials and Geocortex Workflow.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (HTML 5, Python, .NET, SQL, VBA, etc.).
  • SQL Server Database Design and Administration experience.
  • Ability to interface different systems together like ArcGIS, Excel, Access, and SQL Server.
  • Ability to integrate spatial data from multiple sources and in multiple formats.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GPS technology and data collection methods.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense's Spatial Data Standards.
