About the position

The GIS Specialist will be responsible for analyzing spatial data and creating geographic statistics for reports and documents. This role involves data entry of new map data and the use of GIS software to maintain databases and maps, ensuring accurate representation of geographic information.

Responsibilities

• Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
• Perform data entry of new map data using a digitizer or direct input of coordinate information.
• Utilize principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.
• Create and maintain databases and maps using GIS software and programs.

Requirements

• Experience with GIS software and programs.
• Knowledge of cartography principles and geographic data analysis.
• Proficiency in data entry and management of spatial data.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with government contracting processes.
• Experience in working with geographic information systems in a team environment.
