About the position

ECS is seeking a GitOps Manager to work at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. This role focuses on integrating development and operations teams to enhance collaboration and productivity, particularly through code versioning and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. The GitOps Manager will act as a liaison to facilitate mission software development and continuous improvement, ensuring optimal performance and security compliance across various environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive GitOps strategy for the platform, focusing on versioning and IaC practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify and address gaps in the platform's components.
• Work with operations teams to ensure optimal performance of the platform's components across different environments.
• Serve as a liaison between development and operations teams, and coordinate with external partners and vendors.
• Develop and maintain playbooks and documentation for GitOps processes and procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to development and operations teams on GitOps processes and procedures.
• Conduct training and awareness programs on GitOps best practices and tools, including Agile and DevOps.
• Identify and recommend improvements to the GitOps process and frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development or operations, focusing on GitOps and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Strong understanding of GitOps methodologies and frameworks, including Agile and DevOps.
• Experience with cloud security and zero-trust architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools.
