About the position

Join the Carolina Mountain Club for a volunteer work party focused on repairing damage on the Appalachian Trail caused by Hurricane Helene. This event is open to all and provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced trail maintainers while gaining hands-on training in trail maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repairing damage on the Appalachian Trail.
• Help with water drainage issues.
• Clear the Trail of debris and obstacles.
• Repair damaged treadway.

Requirements

• Willingness to work outdoors and engage in physical labor.
• Ability to follow instructions from experienced trail maintainers.
• Basic understanding of trail maintenance (preferred but not mandatory).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in outdoor activities or trail work.
• Knowledge of local flora and fauna.
