About the position

The Glasswash Coordinator (Space Planning & Operations) at the University of Pennsylvania is responsible for coordinating glasswash operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and the cleaning of laboratory glassware and plasticware. This role ensures high-quality glasswash services and customer care within the Perelman School of Medicine, requiring physical capability to handle various tasks and maintain effective communication with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate glasswash operations and equipment maintenance.
  • Manage inventory, including collection, washing, and return of laboratory glassware/plasticware.
  • Perform machine washing, handwashing, dry sterilizing, autoclaving, and air-drying of glassware/plasticware.
  • Conduct inventory management functions such as monitoring slow-moving and dead inventory.
  • Perform cycle counting and take periodic and ad hoc physical inventories.
  • Provide regular reporting on inventory metrics and customer service metrics.
  • Ensure high-quality glasswash services and customer care for the SCTR PSOM community.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with electronic scanning tracking systems administration, operation, and reporting.
  • Experience with metric and variance reporting.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong logistics, customer service, and coordination skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC using MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Oracle Calendar, and Email.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and exercise discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a laboratory environment.
