About the position

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a full-time Ophthalmologist Faculty member in the Glaucoma division at various academic ranks (Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This role primarily involves patient care, including pediatric patients, and serves as a clinician educator for residents and fellows, focusing on glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment medical and surgical instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care, including managing pediatric glaucoma cases.
  • Serve as a clinician educator for residents and fellows in the Glaucoma division.
  • Conduct medical and surgical instruction in glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment procedures.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent degree with a CA medical license or eligibility for full, unrestricted licensure by the time of hire.
  • Completion of an Ophthalmology residency and board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology (ABO).
  • Completion of fellowship training in glaucoma at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated teaching competency and a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care and teaching.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment surgical instruction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Qualified training in pediatric glaucoma is highly desired.
