This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $35, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in storefront and glass installations, particularly with aluminum storefront doors and windows. In addition to glass installation, the role will also involve the installation of wood doors, hollow metal doors, frames, and associated hardware. As a Glazier/Door Installer, you will be responsible for setting glass doors into frames and installing hinges, locks, closers, and other hardware to securely attach doors to frames and walls. You will need to utilize a level to ensure proper alignment and functionality. The role requires the installation of pre-assembled wood or metal frameworks for doors and windows prior to glass panel installation, which will involve the use of various hand tools. A key aspect of the job is the ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications to determine the necessary work details, including the color, shape, size, type, and thickness of glass to be installed, as well as the framing location and installation procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving trucks to work locations, unloading tools and equipment, and using suction cups or cranes to lift glass panels into place. The position also involves cutting and removing old or broken glass before installing replacement glass, as well as lifting, holding, and securing glass panels and mirrors into position using putty, cement, screws, or bolts. For commercial door responsibilities, you will need to demonstrate the ability to tear out existing hollow metal or aluminum frames and replace them with new doors and frames of similar materials. Experience with metal and architectural wood door installation is a significant advantage, as is the ability to install door hardware on commercial doors and storefronts, including hinges, locks, exit devices, closers, kickplates, and thresholds.
