About the position

The Laundry Attendant at Baymont by Wyndham/Penny's Diner is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. This role involves all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, storing, and delivering linens. The position requires a commitment to cleanliness and safety in the laundry area, as well as adherence to company standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel.
• Perform all stages of linen processing including collecting, transporting, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, storing, and delivering linens.
• Clean laundry machinery and the laundry area.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
• Comply with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Understand the operation of washing machines and dryers.
• Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, and rags as directed by management.
• Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
• Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests and fellow employees.
• Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor.
• Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Attend meetings as required by management.
• Perform any other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
